I chose this configuration for a number of social factors:
1) Farming on the outside, herbs on the inside.
2) Town Center created, the roman Forum reinvented.
3) People:
a) Elderly in the middle. If everyone has to walk into the center of town to play sports, pick herbs, and do activites, they will walk by the elderly. elderly just like to watch as their bodies cannot participate. let's make it easy for them to impart wisdom to the children passing by, and keep tabs on the town for the leaders :)
b) Kids- keep them towards the middle for safety.
c) City people- keep them towards the middle
d) Country people- give them the outer properties with extended farms in every direction. they get their open space, but stay within the community.
4) Fire, Health, and Rescue drones can all be in the center of town, minimizing time to reach target and stopping problems like a fire before they have time to grow into a disaster. A child hurt, we have a drone in seconds ready to airlift. Hospitals will be placed accordingly. advancements in technology should reduce the overall size of the hospital needed to do every surgery. We may have to have super hospitals scattered among them with rockets ready to take them to space for zero gravity surgery or rehab. Space offers some serious medical advantages without gravity.
5) Police- we shouldn't need any, but that should be an elected position yearly, like a draft everyone must take turns. it eliminates corruption with a revolving door, and gives everyone the experience of what its like to be a police officer and what they deal with. Then they will start respecting and actually helping the law if they feel they are a part of it.
